California Conservative has some really wicked looking photos of hurricane Katrina as it was making landfall. One of their readers submitted the photos. I’m not gonna post them here, just head over to California Conservative to check them out.
The second picture is 100% pure amazing. I can’t believe how high the cloud walls extend. Very, very good pictures. Check em out.
UPDATE: Peenie Wallie brought to my attention these aren’t Katrina photos. Just various weather phenomenon photos. Still worth taking a look at.
Well, now what?

Nice try, but these are clearly not hurricane photographs. These images are actually photographs of tornadoes and other extreme weather phenomena taken by storm chaser Mike Hollingshead in Nebraska and Kansas during the summer months of 2002 and 2004.
I wouldn’t say they’re “clearly not” hurricane photographs. Because they do look like hurricanes. And tornadoes often spawn as hurricanes approach land and make landfall.
But, that snopes article has convinced me. Thanks Peenie Wallie.
