Sublime Text Theme: Cyanide

A Minimal dark theme for Sublime Text 3

Cyanide is a minimal dark theme for Sublime Text 3 that comes with various color options. You can see screenshots of all the different colors in the gallery at the end of this post.

Cyanide can be installed via Package Control and can also be found on GitHub.

Cyanide includes settings for various tab heights, folder icon sizes, and UI contrast. To enable Cyanide in Sublime Text, open up your user preferences file and replace the theme and color_scheme directives with these:

I’m using Cyanide right now and am quite happy with it. I still love Predawn, but it’s time for a change. So, I’ll be rolling with the Wood Cyanide theme for a while.

Flatland and Flatland-Alt, Two Flat Sublime Text Themes

Flatland, and a derivative theme, Flatland-Alt, are a couple beautiful Sublime Text themes. Flatland is available on Package Control, however, Flatland-Alt must be installed manually, as it’s not on Package Control yet.

To manually install the Flatland-Alt theme, here’s the instructions from the README at GitHub:

Installation

Flatland-Alt is a Sublime package. Currently, you must install it manually.

  1. Download the theme files
  2. Unzip the files and rename the newly created folder to flatland-alt
  3. Copy the folder into the Sublime Text Packages folder. On a Mac that’s located at Library > Application Support > Sublime Text > Packages. You can find that directory by selecting Preferences > Browse Packages…

If you’re on Linux, rename the flatland-alt-master folder to flatland-master and move it to ~/.config/sublime-text-3/Packages/.

Flatland-Alt is different from the original Flatland in a few ways, most noticeably is the red color instead of blue. Flatland-Alt also only comes with a dark version and there’s only square tabs. The orange accent color in Flatland-Alt is a nice compliment to the default Numix GTK theme color.

Both are very nice themes in my opinion, and I’ve used them both before, although not for long periods of time. I just love Spacefunk.

I’ll be posting a few more beautiful Sublime Text themes in the next few days, it’s amazing how many relatively unknown themes are out there, that aren’t total crap. You can probably tell I enjoy rather minimalistic themes with flat, dark colors, and large tabs (sometimes).

Spacefunk Sublime Text Theme Is Awesome

I still love Sublime Text. I made a post a while ago about some of my favorite Sublime Text themes. Since then, I’ve got a new favorite, Spacefunk, by Twiebie.

I like it a lot because it has a gray variation instead of the dark bluish color. However, it does have the dark blue color scheme available, too. You can install it via Package Control.

Spacefunk is based on the Spacegray theme from kkga and comes with two color schemes, Blue Monday, and Gray Tuesday. A screenshot of Blue Monday is below.

More screenshots can be seen at the GitHub repository. Just search for Spacefunk in Package Control to install it. To activate Blue Monday, add this to your user preferences file:

For the Gray Tuesday scheme, add this to your user preferences file:

There’s other customization you can apply too. For a light colored sidebar, add this to your user preferences file:

Spacefunk is the Sublime Text theme I’m using on every machine I use now. The Gray Tuesday scheme is exactly what I’ve been looking for. Dark blue schemes seem to be very popular in the Sublime Text community, so it’s difficult to find other color schemes that look nice.

Needless to say, I’ll probably be sticking with Spacefunk for a while. And if you’re a fan of Spacegray, you should give Spacefunk a try, you’ll probably enjoy it.
