The Washington Times is reporting on democrats being OK with employing race-baiting tactics agains black republicans. What do black democrats say about it? They’re all cool with it, saying it’s just “pointing out the obvious.” Maryland Lt. Gov. Michael S. Steele, who is a republican, is the target of all this racism from various colored members of the democratic party.
Black Democratic leaders in Maryland say that racially tinged attacks against Lt. Gov. Michael S. Steele in his bid for the U.S. Senate are fair because he is a conservative Republican.
Such attacks against the first black man to win a statewide election in Maryland include pelting him with Oreo cookies during a campaign appearance, calling him an “Uncle Tom” and depicting him as a black-faced minstrel on a liberal Web log.
Operatives for the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC) also obtained a copy of his credit report — the only Republican candidate so targeted.
But black Democrats say there is nothing wrong with “pointing out the obvious.”
“There is a difference between pointing out the obvious and calling someone names,” said a campaign spokesman for Kweisi Mfume, a Democratic candidate for U.S. Senate and former president of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People.
That’s freakin amazing. I don’t really know what to think or to say, other than wow. People are worried about the state of the repulican party. The democrats have a lot more to worry about than republicans do. They’ve alienated a large portion of their constituency, too bad it’ll probably go un-noticed.
Why aren’t people like Jesse Jackson freaking out right now? Democrats are the ones constantly preaching tolerance and acceptance of all. How the hell can they preach tolerance when they won’t even practice racial tolerance on their end? It’s just not right. They’re fighting for the rights of individuals that have the desire to kill every American, yet they’re fine with being racist towards black members of the republican party. This just goes to show that the left in this country hates America.
This really pisses me off. They’re willing to be racist against American citizens simply because they’re black republicans. Yet they refuse to exhibit any sort of racism towards those that are deserving of racism. War should be declared on the democratic party, they should all be ousted from U.S. borders.

Although (?) I am a liberal, I share your loathing for this internalized racism among black critics of Steele. On the other hand, there are some legitimate criticisms that blacks can level against Mr. Steele (he’s cool with segregated country clubs, for one). I know of no liberal or Democrat who’s trying to help out anyone who’s against America. An unwillingness to support torture by the US government, and an unwillingness to eliminate the Bill of Rights, is not support for our nation’s enemies.
It amaizes me that the persons who say that they fight for equality and a non racist society are so willing to dump any progress made in gaining a strong foot hold in politics at the senior levels, just because the foot hold is not on a ladder that climbs their structure.
Democrats and Republicans alike should be proud of what they have acomplished in their struggle to get things done in our governments, and allow our system of oposing parties to exist above mere race wars.
There are several ways to get this public served by our government, and the debate from diverse political parties, people from several historical backgrounds, and political viewpoints pushing different methods is needed to keep this country ‘Of the people, by the people.’
We need to stop the name calling and start arguing about policies and services, the real reason we have a representative democracy, and not a Kingdom as Great Brittian would have desired.
i really don’t feel that we should be even discussing race. i feel we should all be quite accepting now of eachother and our education and knowledge to get the job and that is the bottom line. both democrats and republicans have their separate issues. we can agree on some and disagree on some but it doesn’t matter what race some one comes from to fill the job. there are so many from other races than white that have the same passions as we all do. and i feel that if the occupation and experience serves right than who are we to judge what “race” gets the job. i am not a totally political person. but i do follow upl on what i need to and see everyday. i don’t feel just because a black man is leading a part of something has anything to do with all of the other issues we need to deal with, or has anything to do with if he will do a good job or not, look at our president now. lool how many voters wish they would have not voted for him now. color has nothing to do with it. maybe we need to give woman and minorites a chance.
i am telling ya, after this presidency we need a minority in office.
